The complex world of medicals and STCW's gets more confusing each and every year with different cruise lines requiring different medical's and STCW's.
Our advice is to talk to a member of our team and DO NOT GET ANY NEW MEDICALS OR STCW CERTIFICATES UNTIL YOU HAVE AN OFFER LETTER AND HAVE SPOKEN TO A MEMBER OF OUR TEAM ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED.
Medical
Every crew member working onboard a ship requires a medical.
Every cruise line requires a different medical and we can help you navigate this tricky area.
Below are the medical centres we recommend:

They are an approved Cruise Line medical centre and can provide Pre-Employment Medical Examinations required by all leading cruise lines. Our location in London’s Harley Street medical district is easily accessible from all main train stations and the US Embassy.
The standard cost for the medical £425
(which includes the medical, bloods, urine tests, hearing and chest x-ray)
STCW's
The STCW Certificate is a compulsory safety requirement for anyone looking for work on Ocean ships or yachts (it is not normally required for riverboat crew) . It stands for: Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.
There are seven modules to the FULL course which are:
- Personal Survival Techniques
- Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
- Elementary First Aid
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities
- Proficiency in Security Awareness
- Crowd Management
- Crisis Management
Each cruise line will require all or only some of the modules above BEFORE boarding.
Some cruise lines will not require any STCW's before boarding as they will train you onboard.
